Venues -- Getting yourself noticed

Foundation

To attract him, he needs to be able to see you, unless using online dating etc.

Exactly what is a suitable venue to meet the man for you? I would not expect you to find the man of your dreams in a convent, neither would you be likely to find him in a monastry full of monks. Equally you would not expect to find, if you are a teenager, the boy of your dreams at a Darby and Joan club. Ideally the venues you need to visit then, need to have a good supply of unattached males at your target age group. How do you find such venues? Since this is very much down to your age, time on your own, circle of single friends, etc. answers are different, so please choose one or more below that best describes you. (Use the back arrow to come back to this page.)

Under 18 - Teens to 30 with friends - Teens to 30 with little or no friends. - 30 to 50 with friends. - 30 to 50 with little or no friends.  - Over 60 with friends - Over 60 with no friends

Supermarkets and high street stores spend a fortune of making us notice the products they want us to buy. Notice how some items are given special treatment by being put in shop windows or just inside the entrance!! I would not suggest you put yourself into a shop window, although women in Amsterdam do. What I do suggest however, is that rather than hiding in a corner, you place yourself in the centre of room or near to the entrance so that you can be noticed.

Talking to both men and women it would appear that there is some common ground. One area is that we all tend to notice only one or two people on your first visit to a certain venue. On subsequent visits a few more are added to the list and so on. I did not say the people were attractive but for some reason they caught your attention. Just suppose I walked into a venue with only a pair of socks and shoes, and little else. Yes, you would take notice of me.
Two points here I would like to make.

  1. Daring to be different can get you noticed, just make sure it is for the right reason though
  2. Once you have located venues suitable for your age group etc. Make sure you keep to a regular routine so that people will add you to their lists.
